WHAT MAKES THIS A BUNGALUX
Lots of history here ...
- • Lots of historical significance here. Let's begin:
- • This estate once belonged to the King family, and their daughter Ginevra was said to be F. Scott Fitzgerald's first love - unrequited, as she married someone else when he was still in love with her. Ginevra is said to have been Fitzgerald's muse for many of his female characters, including the money-intoxicated Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby. Another note: Ginevra's father, it is believed, once said to Fitzgerald, "Poor boys don't think of marrying rich girls."
- • In addition, Fitzgerald had a great affinity for the wealthy Lake Forest, Illinois neighborhood in which this house is located and the general milieu bled into many of his writings.
