A Neutra Gem in Palisades

The Troxell House

There's architecture then .. well, there's architecture.

The Troxell House, designed by Richard Neutra, was just listed at $3.9 million. We first caught a glimpse of this house many years ago through a personal tour with extraordinary designer BRAD DUNNING, who along with architect Scott Hughes, orchestrated the phenomenal remodel.

We see a lot of houses and even years later this one was unforgettable. Sure, the backdrop is pretty darn beautiful. In the Paseo Miramar area of Pacific Palisades (where Hilary Swank's house is also on the market), The Troxell House has some of the prettiest Queen's Necklace views we've ever seen. The master seems to cantilever over the view, and the lap pool is the perfect little spot for martini-ing it looking over the lights.

There are quite a few great houses in Paseo Miramar, but this four bedroom/two bath jewel caught our eye because it's truly special. The combination of the house's provenance, the glorious original architecture, and Brad and Scott's timeless renovation make it one of our favorite houses in the Palisades. Period. When we spotted the photos on the MLS a couple days ago, we had to write about it. Click below for the MLS listing and check out the photos above for a real treat. (It appears as if the owners have moved out, so the gorgeous interiors are no longer intact in the MLS photos.)

Oh, and for those of you who missed it, Brad did an amazing story for us on his favorite picks for LUST-WORTHY LAMPS . So, maybe you can't afford a $4 million Neutra house, but definitely do try to afford what goes in it.
