Ten Ways to Incorporate Wildlife into Your Home

Accessories

Our friends over at Who What Wear ran a great piece entitled ANIMAL PLANET highlighting one of fall’s hottest trends: Animals.

Sure, wildlife looks great on sweaters, shirts, and on long model legs, but for the longest time we have thought animal accents are key for the perfect room too.

Here are our ten very cool ways to incorporate one of fall’s most awesome trends into your home style.

  1. Insect Art

CHRISTOPHER MARLEY INSECT ART is one of our favorite ways to incorporate the animal trend. We have them ourselves. Enough said?

  2. Faux Fur Blankets

Get ‘em while you can. We’re not sure if Restoration Hardware is continuing or discontinuing their fabulous FAUX FUR BLANKETS. At under $100 you’d be silly not to grab one or two. They’re a room-maker and just plain practical.

  3. Table Accessories

We’ve wanted them for years, for years, for years, and still don’t have them. Rose Tarlow’s BRONZE CROWS are one of our favorite accessories.

  4. Lighting

Another Rose Tarlow favorite ... her UNDERSTATED LAMP.

  5. Trophy

Trophy wives are always in, trophy heads on your wall not so much … unless they're fake. Dering Hall featured a FEATHERED HORSE HEAD which we think is a very chic – and PC – way to get this trend.

  6. Sculpture

For those of you who want to embrace the trend but be subtle, we love this CAT SCULPTURE

  7. Fabric

Fabulous fabric favorite Schumacher has always embraced animal prints. Schumacher should be the first stop for someone looking to spruce up their windows or upholstery with animals.

  8. Towels

One of our biggest lust-after items ever – what we’re going to buy when we get really rich – is the HERMES JUNGLE TOWEL. Towel as art.

  9. Tabletop

A touch of this trend on your tabletop goes a long way. Pepper your table with a few pieces of WEST ELM’S OWL DINNERWARE and we promise people won’t stop talking about it.

  10. Antlers

Antlers, antlers, antlers are everywhere. We are doing this trend the PC-way, with Branchlers from TIM CLARKE.
