San Francisco's Pacific Heights

San Francisco's Pacific Heights is one of the most famous neighborhoods in America ... for good reason, and for many reasons.

The Pacific Heights neighborhood is loosely bordered by Van Ness and Presidio avenues and Pine and Vallejo streets, and was first civilized in the 1800s when the cable car made the area easily accessible for the first time. Though the area was initially populated with mainly Victorian homes, most of the mansions were actually built after the 1906 earthquake. Streets like Broadway ad Pacific are peppered with remarkable homes of every style - Victorian, Mission Revival, Edwardian, Italian, Spanish, Federal, and English Tudor homes all coexist beautifully.

Pacific Heights is known for its incredible real estate for sure, but also its phenomenal views of the Golden Gate, Bay, and Alcatraz, and its bustling and quaint shopping destination, Fillmore Street. Fillmore boasts fantastic restaurants and shopping destinations. A few of our Fillmore favorites include Marc Jacobs (bien sur), Alice & Olivia, Blu, Cielo, Zinc Details, Design Within Reach, and Jonathan Adler. Oh, and one of our favorite home stores anywhere is March SF on Pacific Heights' Sacramento Street. It's our little best kept secret.

Famous Pac Heights residents have included Larry Ellison, Danielle Steel, Jony Ives (who just bought there ... see related article to the upper right), and Zynga founder Mark Pincus and his wife Ali Pincus who founded One Kings Lane. So it seems to us that we're in good company in our love for the neighborhood.
