Landmark Riviera Spanish

La Rivera

Real Estate
blog

We’re watching the Oscars, and we have old Hollywood glamour on the brain.

Which is why today’s listing is oh-so-perfect. Named La Rivera because it of its location in the famous Riviera Area of Pacific Palisades, today’s spotlight house was rumored to have been built by builder Alphonso Bell (also responsible for much of the development of Bel Air) for famous producer Hal Roach – a prolific producer who most known for his Laurel and Hardy films. It was later lived in by real estate-connoisseur Diane Keaton. So, if you don't trust our taste, trust hers.

The house, built in the 1920s, is a true statement piece. Brian Novack renovated the house to keep original details including a magnesite foyer with built-in planters, grand two-story living room, tiled powder room, and the imposing but gorgeous exterior. He then did a full-on $2 million renovation. He updated all systems, added a screening room, renovated bathrooms, moved rooms around, and updated the kitchen to include every gourmet Miele appliance in the line. The well over 6,000 square feet of living space is perfect for the family wanting Beverly Hills or Los Feliz old Hollywood feel close to the ocean. The house is currently on the market for $6,295,000.

We encourage you to see more photos in the house's VIRTUAL TOUR. It's a true delight.
