Nowadays we're all flippers. But long before the days where everyone was "doing a house" and looking for a "fixer" or doing a "project" on his or her spare time there was, well, Jeff Lewis.
Jeff Lewis, star of Flipping Out, the popular home flipping show that airs on BRAVO and HGTV, set his sights on this one many years ago as one his first star projects. We've toured it and it still has star written all over it.
Why? A few reasons.
First, sure, Los Angeles is known for its gated estates, but even in the world of celebrity and exclusivity, gated streets are rare. Blame it on Angelina and Brad if you'd like (neighbors), but Valley Oak is one of the few gated enclaves in Los Angeles's Westside. So, paparazzi be damned.
Secondly, walk into the house and you'll realize that Mr. Lewis was very ahead of his time. Dark wood undertones with white accents make this home feel fresh and serene. The three bedroom, three and a half bath Mediterranean estate, originally built in 1939, offers almost 3,000 square feet of luxurious living space. And the outdoor space can't be beat. For those sneaky paparazzi who manage to hop the Valley Oak gate, they won't be able to hop the hedges here. There's a cool fountained pool and spa and outdoor dining area and plenty of grass - a scarcity in the Hills.
We've been inventory searching in this price range, and we think that for $2.525 million it's the perfect LA pied-à-terre. Now that that's done, on to looking for our summer Malibu and Hamptons rentals...
