We at Bungalux love anything unexpected.
Like what? A hot surfer who, it turns out, got his MBA from Wharton and is now running a tech company when he's not catching waves. A surprise invite on our friend's G5 when we thought we were going to be traveling commercially in seat 41D. A random person who comes up to us and says how much he or she looks forward to Bungalux articles.
So when we stumbled upon beautiful antique cement animals peeking through foliage and ferns in our friend's garden, we fell in love. There's something so beautiful and unexpected about an animal in the garden. Sure, Martha Stewart may have real animals at her amazing Bedford estate, but that doesn't mean that we can't have our own snails, dogs, alligators, owls, lions, and cats around ours (and ours don't require clean-up or feeding).
And for city-dwellers who don't have a yard, we adore animals on balconies too. Sneak them in-between clusters of pots or showcase them as centerpieces on a table.
We found the most incredible selection of antique animals – including the alligator pictured here – at Mecox, which also happens to be one of our favorite stores. Mecox has locations in Southampton, East Hampton, Manhattan, LA, West Palm Beach, Chicago, Dallas, and Houston. In addition, Mecox has one of the best online stores around. Ordering, navigating, and searching are super simple.
So pop into Mecox in person or online today and get your own little (non-furry) friend. We promise your new companion will make every outdoor space a Bungalux space, and you don't have to worry about putting him or her in a kennel when you're off someplace fabulous.
